It wasn’t exactly a warm Thursday for a chunk of the day and that meant some new record low temperatures.
Bill Laidlaw of Signal Weather Services recaps our late May chiller:
-Dryden reached -2.6. Old marker was -0.1 in 1984
-Ear Falls reached -2.5. Old marker was -1.7 in 1954
-Red Lake reached -6.8. Old marker was -3.4 set 1984
-Sioux Lookout reached -5.9. Old marker was -2.8 set 1947
-Thunder Bay reached -3.4. Just slipping past the -3.3 set 1947
Laidlaw stresses don’t worry, things are improving with highs of +19 to +21 over the weekend and +25 to +28 entering June.
