For the third time in the past week, and the fourth time this month, the Northwestern Health Unit did not have any new COVID-19 cases to report on Thursday.
As it stands now, the Northwestern Health Unit is monitoring a total of 21 active cases in their catchment area.
They tell us that there are 13 active cases in the Kenora hub, five near Sioux Lookout, two in the Dryden area and one in the Atikokan hub.
The NWHU says 48,569 doses of vaccine have been administered, which works out to 57.1 per-cent of the eligible population (12+) and 44 per-cent of the entire population.
To date there have been 1,061 cases of the novel coronavirus in the health unit’s catchment area with 1,040, or 98.02 per-cent, marked as resolved.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports four new cases of the virus, putting their active count at 20.
Meanwhile Ontario recorded 1,135 new cases and 19 COVID related deaths.
