Six new cases of COVID-19 are being reported by the Northwestern Health Unit Wednesday morning.
They tell us that five come from the Kenora health hub and one from the Sioux Lookout region.
The new case brings the weekly new case total up to 12 and the active case count up to 23.
15 of the current active cases come from the Kenora region, five from the Sioux Lookout hub, two from Dryden and one from Atikokan.
The regional health authority also reports that the number of hospitalizations due to COIVD-19 are up from one to two.
The NWHU says 47,214 doses of vaccine have been administered to date with 57.1 per-cent of all eligible (12+) in the catchment area having received at least one dose.
There was only one new case in the Thunder Bay Health Unit’s catchment area today bringing the active case count to 17, it’s lowest level since early November.
Ontario as a whole records just over 11 hundred new cases and 23 COVID related deaths.
