Seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 are being reported Thursday morning by the Northwestern Health Unit.
This marks the first time in seven days that there are new cases in the Kenora health hub, where four of Thursday’s new cases come from.
Two of the other new cases come from the Sioux Lookout area, while the other comes from the Dryden region.
There are currently 27 active cases of COVID within the NWHU catchment area; 17 in the Sioux Lookout hub, five near Kenora, four in the Dryden area and one near Fort Frances.
There has been a total of 1,047 cases of the novel coronavirus reported by the Northwestern Health Unit since the start of the pandemic, with 1,020 now marked as resolved.
As of Thursday morning, 40,931 doses of vaccine have been administered by the regional health authority.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit recorded 7 new positives and now has 31 active cases.
In Ontario, there were 2,400 new cases and 27 COVID-related deaths.
