Get ready for the first ever Eagle Lake Walleye Classic.
The two-day tournament is being hosted by Jeff Moreau at Temple Bay Lodge.
You can now register for the May 29 and 30 event, and the deadline is Thursday, May 27.
Entry is $400 per team.
Moreau says the event is, “Geared towards just getting out, having some fun, and measuring the length of your fish. It’s over-slot, because Eagle Lake has slot, 18.1 to 22.8, so it’s two fish, per boat, per day. So, there’s two people in a boat.”
This is a no kill tournament, and all Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry rules apply.
Moreau is promising a great two days of fishing.
“We’ve had almost year-and-a-half now with realistically no pressure on all of our lakes in northwestern Ontario. So, the amount of fish that’s gone into people’s bellies or gone home or stuff like that, back across the border, is way less.”
Moreau adds last summer on Eagle Lake was great fishing and this year is looking good as well.
The prize payout is:
1st: 50/50
2nd: 50/50 of balance
3rd: 50/50 of balance

Moreau says this isn’t the only event they are planning.
“We do have a Kids Dock Tournament that we are going to do on June 13. It’s a Sunday. One day deal. It’s going to be biggest fish, smallest fish, and maybe we will have some other secret prizes for kids fishing off the dock.”
