Communities in Northwestern Ontario are experiencing smoke and haze due to active forest fires in the region
An air quality alert has been issued for the Sioux Lookout, Red Lake and Kenora areas.
The Northwestern Health Unit says forest fire smoke can be harmful to your health.
The health unit reminds you to reduce the amount of time you’re outside if exposed to the forest fire smoke and the amount of air breathed in.
Individuals most at risk of harm include children, the elderly, those who are pregnant, people with heart or lung conditions, or those with active and or physical jobs.
