Provincial Police have turned back more than 4,500 motorists from the Ontario boundaries from other provinces so far.
Solicitor General Sylvia Jones says some of the reasons for trying to cross into our province are not valid.
“Some travellers have been turned away as they were ‘out for a drive’ and going to play pool,” says Jones.
“One individual suggested that bringing empty beer cans into Ontario for a refund is essential. To be clear, it’s not. Another risked bringing in COVID from another province to go grab a cup of coffee.”
