A man charged in connection with a serious assault in Mishkeegogmang First Nation has now been charged with second degree murder.
Provincial Police say 32 year old Jerry Fox was initially charged with aggravated assault in the May 1 incident.
OPP and Nishnawbe Aski Police were called to a Henry Street home around 7:00 in the morning that day.
A 17 year old was air-lifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Lynnora Mikenak succumbed to her injuries a couple of days later.
Fox remains in custody and is scheduled to make his first court appearance today. (Friday)
