The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is urging residents to be cautious with outdoor fires this week, as the forest fire hazard is high across most of the Northwest Region.
Today (Wednesday) the hazard is high and the MNRF says that will likely increase over the next few days, with the potential to reach extreme levels in some areas on Friday.
There were five new fires in the Northwest region yesterday and there are four listed as active this morning.
While there is no restricted fire zone at this time, residents who choose to burn must comply with the Outdoor Burning Regulations set out by the Forest Fires Prevention Act.
