Confederation College is still planning a balance between virtual and in-person learning for the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
President Kathleen Lynch says regardless of restrictions come September, they are prepared for a safe and beneficial experience for students.
“We can adjust very easily if we’re allowed to have more people on campus. We’re getting very experienced at scheduling face-to-face versus online classes.”
Lynch says technical requirements and health labs will be face-to-face.
Lynch says other courses right now will be virtual but notes things could change before the semester begins.
She adds despite the uncertainty, domestic student enrolment remains steady.
Lynch points out ongoing International travel restrictions continue to impact enrolment at the school.
She says the border being closed with India is really hurting their numbers as they traditionally see high enrolment from that country.
With the outbreak continuing to worsen, it is unclear whether students from the country will be able to travel come September.
