You have a choice.
That’s the message from Hydro One as for the first time in Ontario you can select Time-of-Use or Tiered Electricity pricing.
Jay Armitage is the Vice-President of Marketing and Communication and says this is a very important option.
“If you think about a young family or a shift work or seniors or someone with an electrical vehicle. There going to be using electricity at different times.”
A recent Hydro One survey found 52% of Ontarians questioned were unaware they are now able to make the switch.
Armitage urges people to take some time to research their options and find a plan that matches their lifestyle.
“We know from our own customer data that about 40% of our customers would see a savings on their monthly bill and only 3% of our customers have actually made the switch.”
She notes you could be saving about $50 a year or as much as $130 a year.
Armitage says the Hydro One website has a calculator so can enter your electricity usage and find out which plan would work best for you.
