Ontario’s Liberal leader is pledging to work with local leaders to move the regional economy forward if the party wins the next provincial election.
Steven Del Duca says the current government continues to ignore northern Ontario.
“The critical needs for both transportation links, the four-laning of Highway’s 11 and 17. Whether we’re talking about access to universal public healthcare, to a doctor, or a nurse practitioner.”
Del Duca adds, “What the consequences of the climate crisis will mean for your infrastructure and for your quality of life, or mining exploration opportunities, is a critical part of Ontario’s economic future.”
He notes that can only be done properly if the government listens to the women and men who bring the advice, guidance, and expertise of the north.
Del Duca believes our area could play a critical role in the post-COVID recovery.
“If we earn the opportunity to govern Ontario and if I become Premier of this province in next year’s election, you have my ironclad guarantee that I will always listen to you, that I will seek your input, I will seek your advice, and I will make sure that I govern our entire province including the Northwest.”
Del Duca stresses he wants every single person in this province to have the brightest future possible.
