The provincial government is making good on an election promise to help safeguard our natural resources.
John Yakabuski manages the portfolio and says they are hiring 25 additional conservation officers.
“Ontario has a tremendous group of dedicated, passionate conservation officers, who protect our natural resources and enforce the rules.”
Successful applicants will promote hunting safety, prevent illegal hunting, prevent illegal and commercialization of Ontario’s animal and plant species as well as prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species.
The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters applauds the move stating they have been advocating for increased enforcement capacity for a long time.
