A new online tool is available to help small and home based businesses in Sioux Lookout grow and better promote their products and services.
“The Lookout” is also a centralized location for visitors and consumers to discover events and activities in the community.
Economic Development Manager Vicki Blanchard says the virtual market hub is a one-stop shop for small businesses to find support and funding to assist them in developing a digital platform.
Blanchard stresses it’s important to adapt to rapidly changing times.
“A lot of businesses have been forced to look at the opportunity to having these virtual storefronts and we’re excited to help them navigate that. There has not been funding for website development and marketing for many, many years.”
She adds, “Our average age in Sioux Lookout is 37. It’s about attracting young professionals. We have 240 professional jobs. This is a great play to go, look, visit, and join us.”
The project is a joint venture between the Municipality, the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre, Patricia Area Community Endeavours, and Sioux Lookout Young Professionals Network.
“The Lookout” is now live
