Keewatin Patricia District School Board families are invited to an uplifting virtual event with leadership speaker Karl Subban.
Karl is an educator and father of five, including NHL Star PK Subban.
Erin James, Chair of the Parent Involvement Committee explains the virtual event is made possible by a government grant called ‘Parents Reaching Out Grant’.
“This year our PIC committee decided to work together and thanks to COVID, do a virtual event. Karl spoke with the Sudbury PIC committee and it was a really successful event, so we’re very excited it works out to bring the same event to our families.”
James tells what you can expect to hear in the Thursday night zoom event.
“He’s going to be speaking to our families about how to unlock and reach everyone’s potential. He’s an excellent story teller and he will mix his stories with lessons learned as a coach, as a principle, lessons about motivation, grit and accomplishment.”
James adds the event comes at a time when we could all use a little inspiration.
“I’m glad we have the opportunity to listen to him, he really speaks around potential and hopefully he’ll provide us with some tips and tricks and just some renewed energy, as we’re all looking to help our kids right now the best that we can.”
