The Mayor of Dryden is questioning if a better approach is needed to combat the third wave of COVID-19 and its variants.
Greg Wilson stresses what we’re doing now isn’t working.
Wilson says he’s been told by government officials that more people in our region are dying because of government responses to the virus, than from the virus itself.
“That’s not broadcast in the numbers and there’s not a holistic view as to what the ramifications are, for not just Dryden or Ontario, but for the country and the world.”
Wilson adds, “I’m just asking the question. Are there better solutions out there that we haven’t seriously considered. Unfortunately, politics are making this whole situation worse.”
Wilson says over the past two winters we’ve seen the affects including a lack of support services, suicides, increased addictions, and overdoses, cancelled surgeries and medical appointments, lost educational opportunities for students and mental stress among kids and adults.
