Nine new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus are being reported Monday afternoon by the Northwestern Health Unit.
Three of the new cases are in the Dryden health hub, while they are reporting two new cases each in the Sioux Lookout, Kenora and Emo areas.
As is the procedure, follow-up is now underway with the cases as well as their close contacts. If you are a known close contact of a confirmed case, the NWHU says they will contact you directly.
There are currently 47 active cases across the Northwestern Health Unit’s catchment area, which is down from the 63 active cases reported on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the NWHU is reporting one COVID-19 related death since Friday’s numbers were released.
The test positivity rate within the health unit since the start of the pandemic sits at 0.89 per-cent.
