Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started and anyone who is identified will be notified directly.
There are now 39 active cases in the area.
In a media update Tuesday Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon reported two more COVID related deaths.
Provincial data identifies the latest victims as a woman in her 50s and a man in his 80s. It does not reveal their hometowns.
Now, six people have died in the region so far since the start of the pandemic.
The Thunder Bay District is seeing a spike in numbers Wednesday with 34 new and 216 active cases as well as 1 death.
Ontario is reporting 2,333 cases and 15 more deaths.
