Provincial Police are welcoming four new recruits to our area.
Constable Mandie Ryan, Jordan Dasilva and Kyle Cuthbert have joined the Ignace Detachment, while Erica Kollmann is getting settled into her role with the OPP in Dryden.
Here is the bio on the new officers:
-Constable Kollmann is originally from Mississauga, ON. Prior to being hired with the OPP, she studied at Nipissing University and Canadore College and previously worked in the retail sector. Constable Kollmann looks forward to exploring the area and getting closer to nature.
-Constable Ryan is originally from Dryden, ON. Constable Ryan is a graduate of Dryden High School and continued her studies at Confederation College. Constable Ryan held the position of paramedic with the Northwest EMS prior to joining the OPP. In her spare time, Constable Ryan enjoys exploring the outdoors.
-Constable DaSilva is from Barrie, ON. He holds a BA degree in Criminology and previously held the position of Municipal Law Enforcement Officer in the Township of Georgian Bay. Constable DaSilva looks forward to meeting new people in Ignace and trying new things the area has to offer.
-Constable Cuthbert comes to Ignace from St. Thomas, ON and earned his BA degree in Criminal Justice from Nipissing University. Prior to joining the OPP, Constable Cuthbert worked as a community support worker and addictions counsellor. Constable Cuthbert is excited to start this new career and looks forward to enjoying everything the Ignace area has to offer.
