Gerald “Tusk” Kavanaugh
July 26, 1955 – March 23, 2021
In loving memory of Gerald Kavanaugh who passed away at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 with family by his side.
Gerald is survived by his daughters; Ronalda Lands, Geraldine Lands, Tina Lands and Priscilla Lands, grandchildren; Canaan, William, Damon, Dayton, Kendall, Acelynn and Karle, great-grandchildren; Callie and Maximus, nephews; Patrick Kavanaugh, Marvin Pelly, Ryan Kavanaugh, Michael Kavanaugh, Cody Kavanaugh, Braeden Lefort and Hilton Mushquash, nieces; Shyla Mushquash and Angela Lands, brother Gary (Frances) Kavanaugh, sisters; Patricia Kavanaugh and Joanne Lefort and by cousins and their families; Donna (Joe) Cool, Walter (Lori) Kavanaugh, Josephine Kavanaugh and Clifford (Carol) Kavanaugh.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Marianne Kavanaugh, brothers; Jim Kavanaugh and Larry Robinson Sr., nieces; Kelly Kavanaugh and Katie Rose Kavanaugh and nephews; Ronnie Pitchenese and Larry Robinson Jr.
For many years Gerald worked in logging as a strip cutter at the Mill and a few other companies. He was injured on the job and had to take some extended time off but eventually went back to work. He loved his job and was a very hard worker but his injuries forced him to retire early.
In his off time he enjoyed walking, fishing, camping and the outdoors. Gerald was also in a band with the McIvor boys, Philip (Rose) Gardner and Larry Robinson Sr. He was a very talented musician and played both the drums and guitar.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 11 a.m. until time of service at the Eagle Lake First Nation Arena.
A Traditional Service will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Eagle Lake First Nation Arena with an Elder officiating.
Interment to follow at the Eagle Lake First Nation Cemetery.
