The Northwestern Health Unit won’t be publicizing the exact locations of where COVID-19 vaccine clinics are in the region.
Once your appointment is booked, the location of the clinic will be included in that information.
The health unit says this is to prevent those without an appointment from showing up.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon explains if you’re not 80 years or older, but are eligible for the shot in phase one, you must complete a survey first.
“The information of eligible individuals who have completed the survey in full is sent to the Ministry every weekday. The Ministry then receives the information and emails a code to the individuals. It may take a few days to receive a code.”
The health unit has received over 4,250 vaccines in its latest shipment.
By the first week of April there will be a rotating schedule of clinics in 12 communities in the health unit’s service area at least every two weeks and every week in Kenora.
As of Thursday March 18 so far 4,753 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the region.
