Betty Marguerite Madussi
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Marguerite Madussi on Saturday, March 13 at Princess Court with her family by her side.
Betty was born in Dryden on August 3, 1959 to Bob and June Sanders. Living on Earl Avenue her entire childhood, she attended elementary school and Dryden High School before starting work at the Credit Union and then moving to the TD Bank. She worked there for almost 20 years.
Betty met Romeo in 1976 and they got married January 16, 1982. The coldest day ever as she would always tell everyone. Minus 50 without the windchill.
They bought the property on Hwy 594 and built their forever home soon after they were married. They had many great times there over the years. Lots of snow machining, four wheeling, late night horse and wagon rides with good friend and neighbour Dave Pilkey, mushroom picking and bonfires. They were also very active in their pre-kid days, playing slo-pitch and going to many curling bonspiels in the States.
When the girls came around, they spent many years hauling ringette equipment and soccer cleats all over Ontario and Manitoba. Mom never missed a soccer game, ringette game, wrestling match or music concert. Even with her soft voice, it seemed to be the only one her girls could hear on the soccer pitch or the ice surface, usually lovingly telling them to run faster or work harder.
Right up until the last soccer season, she was at every game, cheering her girls on.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Romeo Madussi. Her daughters Sarah (Chris) Madussi and Heather (Peter) Madussi. Her brothers Ken (Lori), Ron (Marg) and Norman (Lisa), her dear Uncle Arnold and Aunt Glenna, cousins and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Betty is predeceased by her parents, Bob and June Sanders, her in-laws Davide and Nella Madussi and her niece Kathleen Sanders.
A Private Family Mass will be held in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Alan Campeau officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to DRHC Kidney Dialysis through Stevens Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 412, Dryden P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted on Stevens Funeral Homes Facebook page or at www.stevensfuneralhomes.ca.
