The Conservatives believe the federal government isn’t doing enough to end all long-term drinking water advisories on reserves.
Gary Vidal is the Shadow Minister for Indigenous Services and says the government has no clear plan and continues to break promises.
Vidal says, “In 2015, the government promised to end all long-term boil water notices but more than five years later, we know when the plan falls apart, the Prime Minister retreats.”
He stresses success isn’t measured by funding announcements and election promises, it’s measured by outcomes.
Vidal says for over a year the Conservatives have been asking the Minister of Indigenous Services to look at alternate solutions to end long-term drinking water advisories.
He notes it’s unacceptable that any Canadian is without clean drinking water.
