The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting several new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in their catchment area.
They tell us that three are in the Sioux Lookout region, two are in the Kenora area, and one each in Dryden/Red Lake and Rainy River.
As is the standard practice, they tell us that follow-up with those involved has already started. They add that if you are a close contact that they will contact you directly.
The regional health authority says three of the cases listed as active on Tuesday are now resolved, and the number of active cases across the region currently sits at 57.
The number of recovered cases is now 481.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported 46 new cases and 2 related COVID-19 deaths today.
There are 414 active cases.
Provincially, Ontario is reporting 1,316 new cases Wednesday morning in addition to 16 deaths.
Most of those cases are in the Toronto, Peel and York regions.
