PA Day Date Change/Kenora Catholic District School Board
Northwestern Ontario students will get a long weekend during the original week of March Break this year.
All regional school boards have changed the date of a P.A (Professional Activity) Day of April 23 to March 19, due to the Ministry of Education announcing the delay of March Break to April 12-16.
There will be no school for students on March 19 and April 23 will now be a regular school day.
The decision was made in partnership by the Kenora Catholic District School Board, the Keewatin‐Patricia District School Board, Conseil scolaire de district Catholique des Aurores boréales, the Rainy River District School Board and the Northwest Catholic District School Board.
In a statement, boards say the decision is to provide more balance to the instructional days for the remaining months of the school year and allow students an extended weekend in March, while providing timely professional development for staff.
The 2020-2021 school year calendar has been updated to reflect this date change.
