Lakehead University is giving student some extra time to catch up after a ransomware attack disrupted their online learning.
Its winter study week is being extended by four days, and all classes will resume on Friday, February 26th.
The attack was first reported on Tuesday.
Essential communication and instructional services, including the University’s website, Gmail, Zoom, myInfo portal, and D2L platform were restored earlier today.
As the Technology Services Centre continues to bring more services back up, LU says users may experience slowed or interrupted services.
School officials previously asked anyone with a university-owned computer not to bring it to campus, as that may make it vulnerable to the effects of the cyber-attack.
