The Dryden and District Museum is up and running once again, now featuring local artists’ work.
The annual exhibit ‘It’s All Relative’ by the Dryden Artists’ Association originally opened December 2 but has been extended to March 19, due to the previous province wide shut down.
Museum Coordinator Bethany Waite talks about what you can expect to see when you visit.
“The exhibit features recent works by several artists in the Dryden area in a variety of mediums. Also returning for the second year is the Art Quilt, which was introduced at last year’s exhibit. It’s patchwork of 8 by 10 pieces of art, again by the artists who are displaying.”
Waite adds by visiting, you’ll be supporting local artists.
“It’s a great way to support the community, with most of the pieces are available for sale. Within the exhibit there’s also a section that was inspired by living in the time of COVID, so that is also an interesting section to look at.
In celebration of Heritage Week, the Museum also has a photo caption contest on their Facebook page until Wednesday February 24.
To book your visit to the museum, you’re asked to call 807-223-4671.
Museum hours are Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed daily from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
COVID-19 safety protocols are in place including face masks or coverings required before entering, a maximum of 10 people in the museum at one time to allow for physical distancing and hand sanitizer will also be available.
