Ontario’s NDP went 0 for 9 this week in getting their motions passed in the Legislature.
Conservative House Leader Paul Calandra says the opposition didn’t put the motions forward in a timely manner and MPP’s didn’t have the opportunity to review them.
Calandra says the government doesn’t like to be caught by surprise and traditionally motions presented suddenly are voted down.
The motions dealt with everything from provincially funded sick days, four hours of hands-on care in long-term care homes, and a wage hike for personal support workers.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath says their motions had to do with Ontarians getting through the pandemic safely.
