It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Julien Altenburg, January 19, 2021 at the age of 84.
Julien was born March 11, 1936, in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba, to William and Reselie Altenburg. In 1954, he married Irene Ranville and together started a family.
Residing in Dauphin, Manitoba, he began his career in the construction trade where he was well regarded. Remaining there until their family had grown, they then relocated to Dryden, Ontario, for numerous years. The surrounding area supplied great hunting and fishing which he enjoyed very much. Retirement lured him back to his roots so he returned to Ste Rose du Lac MB in 2004 to live his remaining years.
Predeceased by his parents, William and Roselie, brother Germain (Gerry), sister-in-law Irene and Grandson Cory.
Left to cherish fond memories are his loving wife of 67 years, Irene, childredn Henrietta (Brian) Harold (Wendy), John (Annette), Richard (Roxanne), Eric (Donna), David, Mark (Gloria), sister Evelyne, brother Louis (Lorraine), Melvia (Sandra) as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Due to current health restrictions, cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a future date.
