(KSENA) SUSAN LUCYSHYN (nee Polanik)
Passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on February 10, 2021. She was born on April 1, 1924, in Bruno Saskatchewan. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many many friends. She was an active member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses volunteering much of her time to help members of her community understand the bible.
As a young adult, Susan left Bruno and settled in Saskatoon where she worked until she married Mike Lucyshyn. Soon after they moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where they resided till 1962. They then took up residence in Dryden, Ontario, making Dryden their home where they raised their children. In 2011 she moved with family to Winnipeg Manitoba.
Susan’s greatest joy in life was to share bible truth with others. She loved the bible and she loved people. She longed to experience the beautiful hope for the future described in Isaiah 65:21-23. She remained active in sharing her faith right up until her death. She was also very talented and loved to sew, garden, and read.
She is survived by her daughters Eleanor (Don) McDonald of Winnipeg Manitoba, and Judy (Lynn) Feagin of the island of Dominica in the West Indies, and granddaughter Ashley McDonald of Winnipeg Manitoba. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mike in 2006, her parents Daniel and Ksenia Polanik, brothers John (Helen), Harry (Anne), Stephen, sisters Mary (John), Kay (Adolph), Olga (Peter), Anne (Tom), Helen (Frank).
A memorial service will be held virtually at a later date.
