A Fort Frances man faces three possession charges and one charge of failure to comply with a release order following a drug bust in the community.
Provincial Police noticed a man known to officers around 10 o’clock last Friday night and realized he was in violation of a release order.
Police found fentanyl, methamphetamine, cash, a weigh scale and other property obtained by crime.
OPP say 36 year old Damien Corbo remains in custody.
Meantime, an arrest has been made in a September 2020 investigation where police were made aware of a handgun in possession of an individual.
The gun was seized but no arrest was made.
An investigation was launched by the Rainy River District Crime Unit, Treaty Three Police and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and charges have now been laid regarding the purchase and possession of the illegal firearm.
OPP say 49 year old Chad Bruyere faces one count of unauthorized importation of a restricted firearm and one count of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm.
