A six year campaign to end youth hunger has been expanded to northwestern Ontario.
Mealshare is partnering with local A&W restaurants to provide a healthy meal to youth in need.
Community Leader Katie Hession says you can simply help out by doing two things:
-On ‘Mealshare Mondays’, customers can order a Cheddar Bacon Uncle Burger Combo and one meal will provided to a youth in need through Mealshare.
-Any day of the week, customers can “Make it a Mealshare” by adding $1.00 to their order. When customers do this, one meal will be provided to a youth in need through Mealshare.
Hession says, “This is going to mean a huge, huge impact for youth hunger across Canada. We are projected to be able to share 1,250,000 meals in 2021 alone.”
In our area Mealshare is supporting the Northwestern Health Unit to provide meals in local communities.
The initiative runs for the entire year.
