A number of people are probably wondering if northwestern Ontario will be allowed to reopen once the lockdown is lifted.
It’s scheduled to end on February 9.
When asked by CKDR News if the province plans to go back to regional reopening’s, Premier Doug Ford had this response.
“We’re looking at that. Greg Rickford, which is a champion for the north, he’s always promoting that. We always have to differentiate from people up let’s say in Dryden, Red Lake, Kenora, and Sioux Lookout. Depending on the cases.”
Ford adds “As long as the cases are low. Why should the people in the north be punished based on lets say Peel Region or Toronto. I don’t think its fair and we’ll make the appropriate changes once we get through this lockdown here.”
