The Dryden Memorial Arena is in the running to win the 2021 Kraft Hockeyville Sweepstakes.
A nomination was submitted January 21 for renovations and upgrades to the Dryden Memorial Arena and Pronger Rink, with more submissions appearing every day.
The winner of Kraft Hockeyville receive 250 thousand dollars in arena upgrades and the opportunity to host a pre-season NHL game.
Three communities are also awarded runner up prizes of 25 thousand dollars each.
The City of Dryden is in full support of this submission and extends a special thank you for the efforts of everyone involved to be able to enter the Dryden Memorial Arena and Pronger Rink into the competition.
“As a cornerstone of the greater facility, known as the Dryden Recreation Centre; the Dryden Memorial Arena is where competitors, families and visitors come together to
celebrate not only hockey and other ice sports, but swimming, recreation and wellness activities. With our own rich hockey history to draw from, Drydenites can be proud of all
we’ve accomplished together as individuals, teams and community participants.” states Mayor Greg Wilson.
These initiatives also support the outstanding efforts of the DREAM committee, Dryden Recreation Expansion And Modification, as well as the many recent and proposed municipal investments in the facility.
