The Ontario government is again encouraging municipalities to find savings within their own operations.
Another $40-million is being made available for service reviews under the province’s Municipal Modernization Program.
Municipal Affairs Minister Steve Clark says local leaders are facing difficult fiscal realities.
Clark says the money can help them improve service levels, find efficiencies and implement new ideas.
The province introduced the program last year and encouraged municipalities to find at least 2% in savings.
The government supported 184 projects in 2020.
Clark made the announcement Tuesday at the virtual Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference.
