The community of Ginoogaming First Nation is sounding the alarm after a sixth person tested positive for COVID-19.
Leaders say they are seeing an exponential spread of the virus, going from one to six cases in less than a week.
Ginoogaming is also further restricting access to the community to the hours of 8 AM to 10 PM for the foreseeable future, with the exception of those leaving for work and medical emergencies.
The First Nation’s Council says they want to work with the municipality of Greenstone to allow COVID-19-positive families to isolate in hotels if necessary.
Ginoogaming is located approximately 40 kilometres east of Geraldton.
