Schools are back in session for in-class learning Monday across northwestern Ontario.
The only exception is schools in Fort Frances as they’ve extended their shutdown for another two weeks due to rising COVID-19 rates in the area.
The Keewatin Patricia District School Board says families are reminded to complete the Ontario School Screening online tool each day before sending their child to school.
You can find that at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening
Any student who feels unwell or fails the screening test is asked to stay at home.
School buses will resume their regular routes and schedules and virtual learning continues for those who don’t feel comfortable returning to the classroom.
Any family facing difficult times is asked to reach out to school principals.
The Board says academic support will be provided to those not able to attend school.
Officials are also reminding families a Student Travel Advisory remains in place.
There are restrictions if you recently travelled for any reason.
Any student who has travelled outside of the province or country should not attend school board properties for 14 calendar days upon their return.
This is the same for travel in Ontario Grey/Lockdown regions including Toronto, Windsor-Essex County, York Region, Peel and Hamilton.
