Ontario has surpassed another record for a single-day increase in COVID-19 cases, recording 3,945 new infections and 61 deaths.
The previous record of 3,799 was set on Friday.
Health Minister Christine Elliott is tweeting that as of last night, 113,246 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
The Thunder Bay District has another eight cases of COVID-19.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says four of those people caught the coronavirus through close contact, one travelled outside the region, one had no known exposure, and the exposure for two others is still being investigated.
Another three people are now considered resolved and no longer test positive, and one COVID-19 patient has been released from the hospital.
The TBDHU catchment area now has 67 active cases of the virus.
Meanwhile, an update from the Northwestern Health Unit COVID-19 now puts it at 20 new cases for yesterday.
Along with the eight Rainy River District cases announced on Saturday, the NWHU says there are also ten more in that area and two in the Dryden and Red Lake region.
This marks a single day record for the most cases announced in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area. These 20 new patients are on top of 36 active cases from its latest confirmed active case count on Friday.
