Ontario is in desperate need of more COVID-19 vaccines.
Premier Doug Ford says they are expected to run out of the Pfizer vaccine by the end of this week.
Ford is calling on Health Canada to immediately approve the AstraZenica vaccine.
He notes its been approved by other health agencies around the world.
Ford notes the roll out of the vaccine should be equally split.
He refuses to lay the vaccine shortage blame on Justin Trudeau.
“The Prime Minister is working his back off. He’s trying his very, very best. He really is. Its not like they have a couple million doses sitting in a freezer up in Ottawa. By no means. He understands the situation we are all in. Where in desperate need of the vaccines here.
Ford notes once the province receives more doses, they can start expanding their vaccination program to long-term care homes and vulnerable people across northern Ontario.
So far only Thunder Bay and Sioux Lookout have received the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.
