The Ontario government confirms it will be moving ahead with upgrades to a number of truck rest area stops in northern Ontario this year.
The Highway 17 Ontario/Manitoba rest area is getting a facelift.
Work includes enhanced lighting, renovating interior and exterior washrooms, improved heating and insulation, WiFi service and new information kiosks.
The province is also improving the entrance to the Highway 72 Umfreville rest area near Sioux Lookout.
If you are headed east the Highway 17 Rossport stop will see improvements to the entranceway.
No start dates have been announced.
