New developments off the ice in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.
There are reports that Fort Frances Lakers head coach Bernie Lynch has been suspended.
No other details have been released but Hockey Canada is looking into the matter.
The Lakers board of directors haven’t commented.
Lynch was hired just last fall after long-time bench boss Wayne Strachan stepped down following a 14 year career.
Lynch is a 47 year coaching veteran in hockey in Canada, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Norway.
The Lakers haven’t played an official SIJHL contest yet this season but did guide Fort Frances to a perfect record against the Kenora Under 18 Thistles in a series of games.
