There is no sign of improvement in COVID-19 cases in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area.
Officials are reporting eight new cases Thursday, six in the Rainy River District and two in the Kenora region.
A total of 22 cases have been logged over the past two days and the current number of active cases is now 38.
Nine new cases are being reported in the Thunder Bay District, bringing the total number of active cases to 54.
And Ontario has broken two COVID-19 records with more than 3,500 new cases and 89 more deaths.
Health officials confirm 3,519 cases today, a significant increase from the 3,266 infections logged a day earlier.
This is the fourth day in a row in which the daily case count has been above 3,100 and the first time the number has surpassed the 3,500 mark since the beginning of the pandemic.
