Another new COVID-19 positive case is being reported in the Rainy River region.
Follow up with the person involved and their known contacts is underway and anyone identified will be notified directly.
There are 13 active cases in that district and one death has been reported.
There are 23 active cases in total across the region with 10 in the Kenora area.
From December 28 to January 3 a total of 1,807 tests were administered and the test positivity rate is 0.94%.
A total of 51,909 tests have been completed since the start of the pandemic with a test positivity rate of 0.34%.
The Thunder Bay District is up to 63 active cases with six more people diagnosed.
That includes one person in the hospital.
Meantime, Ontario logged more than 3,200 new COVID-19 cases and 29 more deaths Monday.
Provincial health officials are reporting 3,270 new infections of the coronavirus, marking the third time Ontario’s daily case count has climbed above the 3,000 mark.
The province’s test positivity rate now stands at about 9.7%, according to the Ministry of Health.
