A reminder that even though winter is fully upon us, you should still be careful when venturing out onto the ice.
The Lifesaving Society recommends that you stay completely off the ice if it’s not at least three inches thick.
To go ice fishing, they say that the ice should be four inches or ten centimetres, and five inches or 12 centimetres for a snow machine or four by four.
When it comes to bigger vehicles, they recommend 20 to 30 centimetres for cars and 30 to 38 centimetres for bigger trucks.
