It’s been a busy December for Red Lake OPP, as police have made several impaired driving charges.
On December 1 police saw a snow mobile driver going at high speed and officers tried to stop the vehicle.
Police found the driver and demanded further testing but the driver refused.
A 21 year old Red Lake man is charged with failure to comply with demand for drugs or alcohol and 3 counts of fleeing from police.
In a separate incident, police were called to a home about an injured man on December 5.
After further investigation officers demanded a breath sample and as a result, a 23 year old Red Lake man is charged with impaired driving and with a blood concentration over 80.
The next day, December 6, police responded to a crash south of Red Lake on Highway 105.
Officers found the vehicle involved in the crash and spoke with a 43 year old Kenora man, who they believed was drinking and police demanded a breath sample.
He’s also been charged with impaired driving and with a blood concentration over 80.
On December 12 Red Lake OPP were doing a RIDE program on Highway 618 and police charged a Timmins man with impaired driving and with a blood concentration over 80.
The next day, December 13, police responded to a noise complaint and spoke with a snow mobile driver.
Officers demanded a breath sample and the driver failed.
A 22 year old Red Lake man is charged with impaired driving and with a blood concentration over 80.
All individuals are set to appear in Red Lake court at a later date.
The OPP urges the public to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergency situations.
