In Loving Memory Of Robert William (Bob) Crawford
October 22, 1935-December 23, 2020.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) William Crawford. Bob passed away at Princess Court December 23, 2020.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Alicia and Russell. Bob is survived by his partner Thecla, his loving daughter Mori-Anne(Lloyd), grandchildren Robert (Jen), Melanie (Dan), Stefanie, Marnie(Trevor), great grandchildren, Dante, Sofie, Theodore, Isaiah, Isabella, Thomas and Callum, as well as former son-in-law Dave Robinson, numerous other family and friends.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Dryden. He attended Albert Street School in his elementary years and Dryden High afterwards. Bob worked various jobs throughout his life having found his niche as a GM Parts Manager and later a Master Parts Manager. Throughout his career as parts manager Bob was rewarded with trips abroad which he and Thecla enjoyed, having returned with many stories, pictures and memories of their journeys. He eventually retired from Dryden GM.
Bob spent many years as a pitcher with the Dryden Red Sox during the fifties and sixties. As well he attended baseball school in Cocoa Beach Florida. Bob loved reliving his baseball stories and showing his picture collection to people around him. As an avid sports enthusiast Bob also enjoyed bowling and golfing, having taken the time to teach and guide each of his grandchildren on the golf course. As well he never missed an opportunity to attend any sporting or extra-curricular activity the grand kids were involved with, be it baseball, cheerleading, hockey, karate or soccer; often times travelling to out of town events. He always had an encouraging word, advice, and a pat on the back. They always knew how proud he was.
Bob was also an amateur photography enthusiast who could often be seen with his camera around his neck. His favorite subjects being his family and nature. A hobby passed on and appreciated by all.
Bob had an amazing sense of humor that the family learned to love and appreciate. He could often find humor in most situations while trying to keep a straight face.
Special Thank you to Dr. Bester, Nurse Practioner Sarah Lancaster, Nurses of DDGH, and Nurses and Staff of Princess Court.
A celebration of Bob’s life will take place in 2021 pending Covid 19 restrictions.
