The Northwestern Health Unit is advising people who shopped at Cloverleaf Grocery Store in Emo that there is a very small chance that they were exposed to the coronavirus.
The Health Unit is now working closely together with Cloverleaf staff to ensure all precautions are being taken to minimize the impact of COVID-19 in the community.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon says “The risk is very remote based on the information we have from a recent case in the Rainy River District, but out of an abundance of caution we are sharing this information with the public. Anyone who was at the grocery store on December 18, 19, or 20 should self-monitor for symptoms.”
She adds “If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, self-isolate immediately and arrange to get tested at your local assessment centre.”
Dr. Kit Young Hoon stresses everyone should be following the guidelines of the province-wide shutdown right now.
“Stay home except for essential trips out, do not gather with people from outside your household, when you do leave your home stay at least 2 metres from others, and wear a mask when you cannot do so and in all enclosed public spaces.” says Young Hoon.
