Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says a provincial investment to build a new Administrative building for the Kenora District Services Board in Dryden was well worth it.
Rickford recently toured the building currently being constructed at the old Central Hotel site.
He says the government is happy to strengthen the downtown core.
“This magnificent building I think represents the new complexion of the revitalization here. There’s going to be a lot more traffic down here given the types of services that they offer and their partners in the health unit.”
Rickford stresses the government was happy to help fund the project.
“That’s why this was a great value proposition for us. It’s all local. The solar, this is a self-sustaining building, Dryden through Kenora, the architects, the construction. You know we’re investing in downtown Dryden.”
The Northern Development Minister is also touting the relationship between the province and KDSB.
“I mean the Kenora District Services Board gets a lot of money from taxpayers and a lot of money from the provincial government. So we want to make sure it’s spent wisely and Henry (Wall) and his team, the board, have done a great job of making sure that we make targeted investments in all our communities.”
