The giving season continues as the Dryden Food Bank’s Christmas Hampers just got a big boost from Dryden GM.
Dryden GM has donated around a hundred and eighty turkeys to the food bank, just ahead of one of their busiest times of year.
Spokesperson for Dryden GM, Ken Wickstrom says they recognize its been a challenging year for people in the community.
“We really want to be able to help people in need. Our staff has always tried to reach out and help people in the Dryden area wherever we can. We just thought this was a great opportunity to partner with the food bank to get practical help and food to people this Christmas season, to make their Christmas better.”
Dryden GM presented the food bank with the truck load of turkeys on Thursday.
With a high demand for food and plenty of interest for Christmas Food Hampers this year, Manager of the Food Bank Al Huckaby says they’re grateful for the donation.
“We are so excited to work along with Dryden GM to make sure that people who struggle with food insecurity, especially at Christmas time, will get some turkeys and Christmas Hampers this upcoming week. We’ve got a lot of volunteers, our volunteers are absolutely incredible at the food bank and they’re all geared up and ready to give out the hampers next week for our clients and people that are needing them for Christmas.”
Huckaby adds this donation will help make many area families and people’s Christmases a little bit brighter.
