The City of Dryden has announced that Deputy Fire Chief, Kent Readman, will assume the City’s Fire Chief position starting January 4, 2021.
Chief Rob Grimwood previously announced that he is leaving Dryden to accept another opportunity.
Deputy Chief Readman and his family relocated to Dryden in February of 2020 to join the Dryden Fire Service.
Prior to joining the City of Dryden, Deputy Chief Readman served as Fire Chief in two other communities.
“I am looking forward to continuing to work with this dedicated and progressive team and am excited to see what the future holds for this fire service.”
Mayor Greg Wilson was quoted as saying, “Our Deputy Chief is well positioned to provide the vital continuity of leadership that’s required and I’m confident that he will continue moving the fire service down the path of success that we have seen over the last 16 months.”
CAO Roger Nesbit adds, “I am pleased that our Deputy Chief has chosen to accept this new challenge and I look forward to him joining our municipal Senior Management Team in his new role
as Fire Chief.”
The City of Dryden will begin the recruitment process for the Deputy Fire Chief position early in the new year.
